Tolga Kurtoglu – Award Recipient

Tolga Kurtoglu has held many different job titles throughout his professional career. As someone who is talented in many different areas of science and engineering, Tolga Kurtoglu has been able to work for several different prominent and influential technology companies. Tolga Kurtoglu attended college at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, which is located in the Pennsylvania city of Pittsburgh, after moving to the United States of America from his home country of Turkey. Tolga Kurtoglu successfully graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Masters of Science degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering in 2001, an achievement he looks back proudly on.

Tolga Kurtoglu then went on to work as a Mechanical Design Engineer at the Dell computer company. After getting hands-on design experience at Dell, Tolga Kurtoglu later went on to get a doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin, also in Mechanical Engineering. Tolga Kurtoglu finished this degree in 2007 after several years of hard work. After completing this degree, Tolga Kurtoglu proceeded to work as a Research Scientist at the NASA Ames Research Center.

Tolga Kurtoglu has received multiple awards for all of his hard work. Tolga Kurtoglu is the recipient of several different awards for his work. Early on in 1999, Tolga Kurtoglu won a design award for his work on a robotic hand. Tolga Kurtoglu also won an award for best professional paper from the IEEE. This award is well earned by someone like Tolga Kurtoglu who has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers in peer reviewed science and engineering journals. The award that Tolga Kurtoglu received from NASA for technical excellence is probably his proudest achievement because of the prominence of NASA as an organization. After all, it’s not every day that you get to say you are a rocket scientist. He recieved this award from NASA in 2009.
